VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT FOR THE LUV OF PAWS:

 

AT THE RESCUE:

Walking, brushing, bathing dogs

Cat care:  Cleaning catteries, food/water, litter boxes; interacting w/cats

Blaze trails for dog walking

Grounds keeping

Unpacking, inventorying, boxing donations

Myriad other tasks

 

Times and days determined by the volunteer’s schedule

Available seven days a week

Travel time from Kingman and Golden Valley, approx. 35-40 minutes

Must be 16 or older; 16-18, waiver must be signed by parent

 

AT THE PAWS-ITIVELY CHARMING THRIFT SHOP, downtown Kingman:

Working retail – set schedule based upon needs of the shop

Janitorial

Unpacking, inventorying, boxing donations

Myriad other tasks

 

All tasks, other than retail, determined by volunteer’s schedule

Available six days a week, Mon-Sat

Must be 16 or older; 16-18, waiver must be signed by parent

 

AT PETCO:

Cat care for the cats in residence at the Kingman Petco store

Cleaning cages, litter boxes, food/water

Brushing and interacting with the kitties

 

Shifts are morning/afternoon, approx. 1 ½ hours

Morning:  8 am Mon – Sat; 9 am Sun

Evening:  Any time between 4 pm to 7 pm Mon-Sat; 4 pm to 6 pm Sun

Must be 18 or older

 

AT ADOPTION EVENTS:

Held every few month at various locations for 4 to 5 hours

Set up tables, chairs, hang banners, walking dogs, introducing dogs and cats to potential adopters; manning tables, giving out literature, adoption apps; clean up afterward.

 

OTHER EVENTS:

Open house at the rescue (two days each spring); parades and other events as scheduled during the year, usually one or two days.

Fundraising development:

Submit ideas for fundraisers; assist in implementation

Business mailing list development:

Develop list of businesses in Kingman area, to include:

Name of manager or owner

Address

Phone number

Contact person

The purpose of this list will be to mail or hand deliver letters asking for donations of unwanted, expired or ‘to be thrown away’ product and/or donations of items for raffles, etc.

This project can be completed at home, but with a set deadline for completion.
